5 Albums That Got Me Through the Week
Saturday, February 22, 2025
Sometimes, a week can feel like a roller coaster of emotions—one day you’re riding high on excitement, and the next you’re in deep reflection. Music, for me, is the constant companion that colors these ups and downs. Here are five albums that not only provided the perfect backdrop for my week but also helped me rediscover different facets of myself.
Drake & PartyNextDoor – Some Sexy Songs 4 U
I’m a big fan of Drake with the melodies just as Kendrick pointed out (lol). Anyway, this album brings smooth R&B vibes and modern hip-hop flair to the table. Although it’s supposed to be Drake and PND collaboration, it leans more toward Drake’s sound, and I would have loved to hear more of PartyNextDoor’s influence. Overall, its catchy hooks and sultry rhythms add a playful, and fun twist. Fav Track : Moth Balls
Moby – 18
18 served as a sonic escape. The serene soundscapes and subtle rhythms created a calming atmosphere Fav Track : One of These Mornings
The Fray – How to Save A Life
A tender mix of vulnerability and hope, this album offered a comforting refuge. Its reflective melodies and honest lyrics provided the perfect backdrop for quieter, introspective moments, helping me reconnect with my inner self. Fav Track : Vienna
Pearl Jam – Binaural
This album exudes raw emotion and intricate soundscapes. Its atmospheric rock and layered guitar work with amazing lyrics Fav Track : Light Years
Kendrick Lamar – GNX
An experimental twist on West Coast hip-hop, GNX challenges you with edgy beats and introspective lyrics. Its innovative as most Kendricks project but also followings in the footsteps of Lamar’s “DAMN” album from the commercial approach. Most of the songs he performed at the Super Bowl are on this album. Fav Track : Peekaboo
Each album added a different flavor to my week, creating a diverse soundtrack that resonated with every mood. Enjoy exploring these sounds!
